Bonita Meyersfeld is LvA’s founder and Board Chairperson. Bonita is an Associate Professor at the Wits School of Law, where she teaches international law and business and human rights. From 2012-2017, she served as the Director of the Centre for Applied Legal Studies (CALS) at the University of Witwatersrand. Prior to her work with CALS, Bonita served as a legal advisor in the United Kingdom’s House of Lords, and as a gender consultant to the International Centre for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) in New York. She obtained her LLB from Wits University, and both her masters and doctorate in law from Yale Law School. She is the author of Domestic Violence and International Law and the Editor of the South African Journal on Human Rights. She is an admitted advocate.
