Nobantu has over 20 years working experience in Human Capital acquired from both the private and public sectors. She started her formal career as a clinical psychologist at Gold Fields in 1997. She then moved to a position at Eskom as the Organisation Development Advisor. Here she was responsible for facilitating Eskom’s gender equity policies and managed the Gender Equity Project. For the next four years, Nobantu was employed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), where she worked her way up to become the Deputy Director of Corporate Services (Multilateral). Through her various roles in the organisation, she developed and implemented several successful systems, notably the capacity building project and the career management framework. She then moved to Medscheme Holdings in 2005 where she served as the General Manager: Human Capital Centre of Excellence for seven years accountable for talent management, learning and development, transformation, before joining Liberty in October 2012 where she is currently the Divisional Executive HC for the Insurance Cluster.
In addition to her corporate functions, Nobantu ran a Clinical Psychology private practice over weekends in Kagiso, Krugersdorp from 2001 – 2007. Nobantu was previously an employee nominated trustee for the Medscheme pension fund and served as a trustee of Libcare, the closed medical scheme for Liberty employees and pensioners where she was chairperson of the Ex-gratia sub-committee.
